I have got tools from Harbor Freight, with no real issues besides a compressor fitting. They have a pretty good warranty, and if your going to get something big I would recommend getting the extended warranty which is only a few bucks more.
They say on there website that they offer a limited lifetime warranty on all there tools. Here are some links below to the warranty info that might help ya out. When in doubt just give them a quick buzz.

https://esolutions.assurant.com/?id=harborfrtI would also look for printable coupons. Below, is a link for a coupon for 20% off any item in store. You can print this off to save some extra cash. I often find these in the back of the free auto sales books on the way out from stores.
Please keep in mind that this coupon expires on the 31st of this month, but a quick search on Google for “Harbor Freight Printable Coupons” will get ya some more when they run out.

January 26, 2013 at 12:00 pm #494697I’ve got plenty of stuff from HF. My only one rule is: if I buy from them, it’s because I need the tool soon or now. If its junk, then it can get returned easily. None of this “I might use it someday” mentality. All that gets me is a potentially bad tool that is past it’s return policy date when I find out it sucked.
I have my share of bad tools from HF. I’ve got my share of sorta okay tools, and my share of good tools from them.

February 18, 2013 at 9:03 pm #502925I believe you get what you pay for in tools (and parts).
For regular use, I don’t recommend any HF products.
For occasional use, or a one time project, I might consider HF- but not for any thing requiring a lot of force ( gear pullers, spring compressors, torque wrenches, ball joint kits, etc.)
I believe Craftsman and Kobalt offer good value/dependability w/o scorching you pricewise.February 18, 2013 at 9:03 pm #501218I believe you get what you pay for in tools (and parts).

I always look at reviews of Harbor freight tools before I buy something from them. I wont buy their normal wrenches, extensions and screw drivers at all. I have lots of their sockets and they work just as good as craftsman in my opinion. It just depends on the tool to me. Read the reviews and see what others who have tried them say first.

March 16, 2013 at 7:00 am #507518I have used the hell out of the impact sockets they have for sale. I haven’t had one break on me yet and I’ve put some through hell.
The breaker bars they have on sale are also super in my opinion.
I prefer Husky tools as my go to stuff, but some things at Harbor Freight are worth it considering price. Read the reviews about the products on their website, they are very useful in making a decision on some stuff.
All the screwdrivers are crap though…

March 16, 2013 at 7:16 am #507522I just picked some impact sockets yesterday, and boy they do the job well. Took off some 15/16″ bolts like butter, then moved to some red lock-tight bolts and was no problem. They have a lifetime warranty on the tools, so i’m happy. Picked up my 1/2 Inch impact wrench there to. Rocks!

March 16, 2013 at 4:48 pm #507572I have a couple of their 3/8 ratchets and they are surprisingly good. They appear to be built better than my old craftsman ratchets.

March 17, 2013 at 1:07 am #507634Their 24″ breaker bar is excellent, definitely the best thing i’ve bought from them aside from maybe my 16 drawer tool box. Bought that for $300 and it’s great. Next time i;m down in the states i’ll probably pick up some crows feet.
