As many have touched on I think the biggest factor in determining if the “average” tool from HF is a worthwhile thing to buy is what capacity that you’ll be using it in. July 25, 2012 at 11:00 am #461685I love HFT and go there regularly.
July 27, 2012 at 11:00 am #461686I love Harbor Freight too they have it all, but you don’t want all of it as some can be a little sketchy.
July 28, 2012 at 11:00 am #461687I bought an HF adapter set 1/4 to 3/8, 3/8 to 1/2, 1/2 to 3/8 and 3/8 to 1/4._x000D_

And I nearly twisted off the end of the 1/2 input to 3/8 output. I was trying to remove a 19mm bolt and a 3/8 ratchet wasn’t cuttung it. Unfortunately or fortunately dependinJuly 28, 2012 at 11:00 am #461688[quote]Quoted From pcmdjason: _x000D_

July 28, 2012 at 11:00 am #461690I recently bought a 1/2 inch torque wrench from HF because I have the 1/4 model and it’s seems to work ok. But it didn’t really like the 1/2 wrench because the scale was so condensed that I didn’t feel confident in what setting a selected so I returned it

It lasted about 10 seconds before it broke 🙁January 22, 2013 at 12:46 pm #493743Get that 24″ breaker bar, 10 bucks on sale like 13 regular price, cant beat it, also all my die grinders and my air cutoff wheel are harbor freight, between 10 and 25 bucks a piece, work excellent, I have 3/4 drive chrome/impact sockets and big wrenches that perform very well, also a prybar set, and a few others, its just hit and miss quality, dont cheap out on certian tools thoguh, the ratchets, screwdrivers, wrenches i use everyday are all snap on and mac, they last through everyday use, which some HF stuff cant handle.
Also stay away from that $19.95 HF pistol grip Vacuum pump/brake bleeder thing is junk, Ive gone through two already, it sucks up the fluid and eats up the insides, also the new style cannot be taken all the way apart.

January 23, 2013 at 12:34 am #493789I have got tools from Harbor Freight, with no real issues besides a compressor fitting. They have a pretty good warranty, and if your going to get something big I would recommend getting the extended warranty which is only a few bucks more.
They say on there website that they offer a limited lifetime warranty on all there tools. Here are some links below to the warranty info that might help ya out. When in doubt just give them a quick buzz.

https://esolutions.assurant.com/?id=harborfrtI would also look for printable coupons. Below, is a link for a coupon for 20% off any item in store. You can print this off to save some extra cash. I often find these in the back of the free auto sales books on the way out from stores.
Please keep in mind that this coupon expires on the 31st of this month, but a quick search on Google for “Harbor Freight Printable Coupons” will get ya some more when they run out.
