Anyone else notice how Harbor Freights new Daytona Jack available this weekend looks exactly like the Snap On ones that were being pushed a couple months ago? Only it’s less than half the cost?

I’m all about quality tools and I have bought my fair share off the trucks, but could this be one of those instances where it’s just a different color and sticker on it?

I know chances are there is a slight difference like the shaft seal being square cut or the handle being steel instead of aluminum, but I’m really curious to see if anyone out there has them side by side.

Yes, it’s possible the jack could have been manufactured in the same factory.

Many years ago I had cheap K-Mart creeper. Eventually a caster broke off one day. Since the Snap-On guy was due later that day I just went on the truck and bought a Blue-Point creeper at a much higher price.

A few years later a caster broke off of the BP creeper and the manufacturer stamp on the caster (on the face where it mated with the creeper and could not be seen) looked very familiar.

When I got home that evening i drug out the old K-Mart creeper with the broken caster and found the manufacturer stamp was identical.
The only difference between the K-Mart and the BP creeper was the inked logo and the color of the vinyl on the headrest.

‘I also found a tool store jack one time that was identical to one I had purchased from the Cornwell dealer. Different color of paint was all.

Ever heard of Grizzly machine tools? Nothing special about them. Those same tools are sold by other vendors with the only difference being the paint color. They all come out of the same plant in China.
