I’ve been working on getting my motor home ready for a trip down to Texas and I’ve come across a peculiar part fastened just behind the driver’s side head light. I have no idea what this thing is. My only guess is that it might be a daytime running light gadget that was added to the unit. The chasis is a 1989 Ford E350 7.5 L 460 engine. The only wire that is connected is the yellow one which is spliced into a red wire going to the headlight. One of the black wires is run in front of the radiator and just sits there loose. It must be some sort of probe for this unit. I’m thinking of removing it if it’s something I don’t need, especially when most wires are disconnected. I’ve included two pictures for anyone interested in identifying this thing. Also, does anyone know if it’s mandatory in the states to have daytime running lights or can an older vehicle get away with not having them? Thanks in advance to those who took the time to hazard a guess as to the identity of this part.
