      Hello!!
I recently did a transmission filter and fluid change on my 2008 Pontiac G8. My car has an automatic transmission. After i was done i took it for a test drive. It shifts smoother, and i don’t have any issues when the car is running. But right after i shut the engine i can hear a grinding noise. I think the noise is coming from where the transmission and engine meet. Like something is coming to a stop. Its really brief, only lasts about half a second. But its audible. It doesn’t do it at idle, or when i put the car in any of the gears. My car doesn’t have a transmission dip stick, but i made sure to put the same amount of oil that i got out. Any thoughts.

      Thank you.

Fluid change on that type of transmission follows a specific procedure.
Some require the transmission to be at a specific temp in order to have the correct fluid level.
        Others require specific tooling.
Might suggest to ask the dealership or research the internet to find out exactly what is required for your specific vehicle.
