grand cheraokee

I have a 1999 Jeep grand Cherokee. 4×4 with auto transmission which I have had for about 5 months with 164914 miles on it. Lately I have notice that in the morning when I’m driving to work it takes a long time to change from 2nd to 3rd gear the Rev counter goes up 3000rpm and still wont change into 3rd. I sometime come of the gases a little then eventually it changes to 3rd. Once the car is warm it does not have this problem. I have checked to make sure the fluid level is correct. This the second car I’ve had that has this problem the first was a 1998 mazda 626. Anyone have a cure for this problem., a friend told me to try a product called PROLONG for transmissions
