      Hey all,

I have had issues recently with jacking up my cars/trucks in my rocky dirt driveway. I currently use a cheap trolley jack and I’ve noticed that It slides as I’m jacking the car up. Ive found that trolley jacks have to roll forward a bit to compensate for the lifting arm angle increasing and on a rocky surface with small wheels, this doesn’t exactly work. Last week the jack jolted enough to drop my truck (only a few inches but still scary). I assume I’ll have to go with a bottle jack until I get a real garage. Anyone else have issues/advice with jacking cars up on rocky/dirt surfaces?

      Thanks

I just used a 1/2″ sheet of plywood or OSB under the jack at our old place. I hope you’re also using jack-stands when under the car (again…with a plywood base)

Thats actually a good idea. I’ll have to try that. Yes of course I used jack stands whenever I jack up anything. I’ll have to build some wooden pads to put the jack and stands on. Thanks
