I’m not sure why the socket won’t fit the nut, but if your impact won’t knock the nut off, then maybe see if you can borrow a beefier one?

Thanks for replying. The cars has 80,000 miles of love and care that a man can offer. I done an compression test that met the required specifications but I can try it again. I drained the oil before and it had some metal shards but nothing
