This isn’t technically a service/repair question but here goes. I need to replace the steering wheel on my 01′ Buick Century Limited. I spoke with my local GM dealer and was told that the part had been discontinued. Where can I possibly find a part like that has been discontinued? I’m hesitant about getting one from the junkyard because the reason I have to replace the steering wheel is from “sun rot” because I live in the south. The other thing I was curious about was since it’s a GM and they use a lot of the same parts across multiple lines, where can I find a list of other cars that have the same steering connections for the wheel.
The factory part number if anyone is curious is 16869209.

Ebay. You can find one from a state without the sun or from a wrecked car that was garaged. Also try http://www.car-part.com
If you search and don’t find the wheel listed try searching for something else in the interior (like seats) if you find one with the right color call them and ask if they have the matching wheel.
You just have to look hard. You will find one.
