Ok this thing is starting to drive me nuts. First my 02 wj had long crank times not holding fuel pressure. I installed a Delphi pump, Still had the same problem. Found that the fuel filter /regulator was bad (only a month old with a wix) I replaced with another wix and all was fine for about 200 miles. Today
she quit on the way home ended up getting towed it would barely run. Hooked up fuel pressure gage and the pump is only putting out 5 psi
What gets my goat is the first wix filter that was bad came from china the second wix filter came from taiwan and my brand new Delphi pump came from china. My first time my tank was empty NOW I get the privilege of dropping a FULL tank
why can’t we get a GOOD pump and filter made in the USA or any parts made in the usa
I am so Glad that I retired form the auto repair business years ago because the quality of parts today SUCK
I still have a friend that has he’s own shop and he tells me this is a daily problem any more

It most certainly is a problem. One of my favorite things about my old VW is that it’s easier and cheaper to get European made aftermarket parts than it is to get china parts from Advance auto or NAPA.

Ok found the problem yesterday after my jeep quit
I put a presure gage on and the fuel pump was putting out
5psi and as some as I turned it off the gage went to 0
Today dropped the tank AGIAN and installed another’s
Delphi fuel pump started the jeep up I now getting 20 psi
And when I shut it down the gage went back to 0
The problem was the wix filter/regulator was bad AGIAN
This was the 4th one in installed in two weeks
I ended up getting A ipc filter/regulator and I now have 49 psi
And it now holds presure took the wix filter
Apart and found that the presure regulated was bad
This little part ended up burning up my first Delphi pump
I will NEVER use wix AGIAN they used to be good
But now wix is from Taiwan
I am still trying to find a U.S. company but that’s not
Easy to find I am really pissed at wix and they are going to hear from
Me all my problems with my fuel problem ended up because of a crappy
            Fuel fitler /regulator

I truly understand your frustrations. I had a run of bad wheel bearings (hubs) that were made in china and sold by a reputable parts supplier with their brand name on them. After a battle with the management where I work we only sell Timken bearings. They are still made in the USA and I have never had a problem with one.

Hell of it all there is only about $20.00 difference in price between them.

Maybe there should be a National effort by us to push
This China crap out what I mean is buy USA parts only
I still have NOT found a U.S. company for filters
I also have let wix know how I feal I told them as long
As their parts are not made here they will NOT be getting
                Any more of my Business

You think filters and pumps are bad you should try buying tools any more. Talk about a crap shoot. I started in the field 2 yrs ago. I had flank drive plus wrenches from snap on and spread them. Get a replacement set and spread them. This was in the span of 2 months and the only reason it was that long was because that is how long snap on corporate took getting back to my tool truck guy. We both thought it might have been a bad run or something with the first set. I have bought a mac 1/2in drive long handle ratchet and broke it got the head replaced and broke it again in the span of a week. None of these tools were misused or had a pipe or anything put on them. I have harbor freight tools that work better then some snap on and mac tools. You literally have to research anything you buy just to get a tool that won’t get you hurt. Hell I have started buying old tools because i know the quality is better. I have a sae set of craftsman combination wrenches that are stronger then snap on ones.
