Your hose is broken, getting this fixed is just part of your problem. AC systems do not like contaminates such as dirt, dust, or even moisture. Having a system open for an extended amount of time and you will have to replace the dryer/filter and I would recomend replacing it before you seal it back up and evacuate and then recharge the system. Depending on contaminates in the system you may have to flush the system. You also might have a block that caused the high side line to blow. If you are not going to fix the system make sure you do something to stop the dirt/dust into the system. Moisture is aready in the system and will have to be boiled out under a vacuum.
You can put the hose on the system, but I would take it in to an AC Tech to get the system recharged because the equipment needed is very expensive and difficult to use correctly. Just tell the Tech what you did to fix the problem and then the Tech can test the joints for leaks. Vacuums are kind of funny because the moisture, oil and even gasket boil off so the vacuum always goes up a little. So on AC system sometimes they will put Nitrogen under pressure to test for leaks.

You may be able to just get a replacement hose and have it crimped on to the old end fittings but you’d have to research that to find a place to get the proper hose and find a place to get it crimped a special tool is needed to crimp the hose properly to your end fittings.
Its a Saturn a Piece of shit make. Use a hose to close up the system tthen just leave it. A Saturn aint even worth the money to fix. Exerence tells me if it fits it works. But coming from someone who has not had A/C to use for 13yrs in a car that the A/C never worked even when car was brand new you improvise. Tell her to just roll both front windows down and vent the sunroof if she has one.

Let’s refrain from insulting peoples vehicles no matter what they drive.
We are here to help not judge.Leo be nice these people are looking for help just like you were for your DAEWOO. Even if is a make or model you particularly like it could mean the world to the owner. My advice in this situation take it to an A/C shop depending when the damage is they should be able to either reseal the broken area or cut in a new piece of pipe

A/C shop? doesnt pretty much EVERY auto service shop do A/C?
^ They will work on any A/C, but that doesn’t mean they always have the proper equipment like a evacuation systems… So they’ll half ass it and it’ll be back in the shop a year or two latter…
Proper evacuation and recharge systems cost allot of money… So they’ll just replace the part and use r-134a in a can… Which isn’t a problem, but not evacuating it is…

well that expains y the shop fixed my A/C and it only worked once
You also have to be licenced to do a/C repairs and regassing that’s why there are specialty shops as well

Not licensed, EPA Certification. Here in the U.S it is called an EPA 608 Certification to be able to to work on automotive A/C systems. An EPA 609 Certification allows you to buy refrigerant in bulk quantities, rather than 12 ounce cans, which allows the weight of the refrigerant put into the system to be closely monitored so as not to over or under charge the system.
