Hi all. 3-4 or weeks ago i decided to replace the front shock absorber bearings and bushings. Then i went further in replacing the sway bar bushings and rebuild the power steering rack which was and is leaking. I’ve removed the whole front assembly and removed the steering rack. Yesterday, after a looong research on the internet i went to a car parts shop and bought the steering rack repair kit in order to start today replacing the seals. As soon as i removed the boot i went straight into removing the the inner tie rod. Surprise! i couldn’t do it because the nut is perfectly round. I tried to break it loose with a vice and a vice grip, wd-40, penetrating oil and tapping gently with a hammer. Nothing seems to work. My question is: does anybody know if that inner tie rods are supposed to be removed? I was told by somebody that there could kind of special glue between the shaft and the tie rod. Should i cut them and after that drill a new hole in the shaft to mount new rods? I have to mention that i can’t afford to buy a new rack because it’s way too expensive. I will attach a picture with that nut also. Any advice is very welcomed. Thank you for your support
