jack the car up and shake both tires right/left up/down and spin them and see if you hear any clicking you can also whith the car on the ground shake each tire area to check the shocks and mounts…. up/down ball joint left/right tie rod spining cv or wheel bearing… also have to check the sway bar links and sway bar boot.. that you will have to grap and shak it self… aslo look for ripped bootsif you see them something is failing…. did the shop show you the bad part and explain to you how they tested it to see it was bad?

From what I’ve seen, your gearbox should take about 3.3 liters of API GL-4 80W90 hypoid gear oil. That info is for the ’87 model, so I’m assuming your ’89 will be the same.

I’m surprised you’re still driving one of these. I haven’t seen one on the road for a long time.

Thanks for the reply. I will change it to 80w90 as it seems more right to me than engine oil in a gearbox. Cant check for sure as my manual hasnt arrived yet
