Gear grinding

Hey everyone,

So my 93 civic just got a new stage 4 clutch,master and slave and I thought this would get rid of the grinding.
It was at higher rpms 3 and up when i shift from 2 to 3rd and 4th to 5th. Any idea what this could be? Hope it’s not something big.

All that stuff isn’t going to help when your synchronizers are going out. How many miles are on the transmission? I would bet that the synchros are wearing out.

Ah I was afraid of that. I’m not sure since I bought the car used is there any way to check? lol
Also, is that a pricey fix?

you probably have at least 1 bad synchro in the transmission

i don’t know of any ways to check for it off hand, other than have a transmission shop look at it

most likely the transmission will have to be replaced or taken apart and have the worn out parts replaced
