gear driven cam sound????

hey guys i have a 88 chevy k1500 with the 5.7ltr engine and getting a strange soune when engine is cold it sounds like a gear driven cam then goes away when the engine warms up any ideas or tips would be greatly apreciated

The main culprit that goes away when it warms up that comes to my mind is power steering fluid when it’s either a bit low or so dirty it has viscosity issues below freezing.

that sounds like a good idea will try to flush the system must be really bad because it doesnt get below freezing
