I would trace the supply and return lines.

Start the car and then smell and feel around, especially at all the joints like where the gas line goes to the fuel filter and then all the lines downstream from there. It can also be before that, anywhere after the fuel pump which is in the gas tank. That requires crawling under the car and using a flashlight to peek at the fuel line and its connections. Not a lot of fun. Don’t use a candle for illumination. Best to have a helper standing by, holding a fire extinguisher, with the safety off. My bro-in-law burnt two garages, one to the ground, because he did not have such a helper.

ALWAYS best to err on the side of caution when messing with gasoline. Sometimes when you smell it, but can’t really see a leak, it is a rubber hose that is full of tiny cracks, making it somewhat porous. It will seep under pressure (and this is often more pronounced on cold days) but there will be no visible leakage.

If you don’t find an obvious leak, try looking for rubber hose that looks damp, or as though it has been wet.

could be your charcoal canister is soaked especially if you got into the habit of topping off the tank.
The canister captures gas fumes and does have a purge valve on it.
This can sometimes not set a code.
