leaky injectors or bad fuel pressure regulator.
pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator
and see if fuel comes out.

I would start the car then pull it.

I think we are entitled to some noise as we age. πŸ™‚

+1 on replacing the fuel pressure regulator. It shouldn’t be squirting gas out like that. Keep us posted.

Hi, about the engine noise, I too think it’s normal for a car of that age and with that many kms.

Still, something can be done to help “soften” the engine and help it last much longer.

I personally have used the sintoflon line of products, and since you are in Italy too it should not be too difficult to find these.
They are special oil additives made with PTFE (teflon).
I mostly have used the sintoflon ET as a first treatment and then a sintoflon protector after 1000KMs of cleaning (ET does cleaning and initial PTFE covering, then the protector completes the PTFE covering).

Also, since the noises are most probably caused by increased play in the engine moving parts, it could be useful to use a slightly more viscous oil, like 15W50 or 20W50.

All this and you should get a much quieter (and more protected) engine.

                          Hope this helps! πŸ™‚

                            thanks for the kind answer!!
Now I’m using a 10-40w part synthetic oil from liqui moly, the noise is not the same every time, usually when the engine is warm it’s quiet and there is no valve noise but sometimes i start the car and the clicky noise is real loud but i turn off the engine and start it again and then it’s quiet… i think that there is something in my oil that sometimes closes the passages to a valve and when i stop the engine this something moves back and the oil can flow again.

the next oil change i will move to a 15-40 with something for old engines and i will try the tratment you suggested!!
