Ok, a 1997 Chevy K2500 Silverado.
I am having problems with the truck dying sometimes when driving, and the fuel pump not doing the 2-3 second start when you first turn the key.
I open the under the hood Fuse Relay center and take my finger and move the fuel pump relay and the pump will engage and start. I hear that these fuse blocks get corroded underneath and can cause problems. I am going to replace this fuse block relay center (if I can find one as I cant seem to locate one online) to see if this fixes the problem.
When the truck is running If I pull the relay out the truck dies. When the truck is running, if I take my finger and move the relay just a bit the truck cuts out. So this all goes back to the connections under the relay not being good.
But, I “thought” the relay was just to get the truck started and you could remove the relay once the truck was started and it would continue to run. Am I correct on this? Because once the truck is running if I remove the relay or even move it a tad it dies.
Just making sure there isnt more than one possible issue here
Thanks
