There should be a groove on the injector and a lip on the fuel rail. The clip should slide right on. Is it possible you’re pushing it too far into the rail?

hmm. Well I put it all back together and did my best. Havent tested for leaks yet. I think it must be the opposite of what you said. The problem i have is that i press the injector into the rail and need to press it quite hard to snap the clip on securing it. Otherwise if i pull it out, the injector is not secured in at all, which i think is the point. and in alot of cases, it will only go on one side and fall off the other side. It seems like it fits over the small lip, but sometimes it falls under it.

From what i read on the internet, it seems like some of these types of clips are rumoured to have been optional and more for factory assembly than anything. I am planning on energizing the fuel pump, once i complete one more repair, and checking for leaks. I think I got most of the clips on, after i bolted the assembly down. But some are a bit crooked.

thanks for the insight though. I will post back whether it leaks or not!
