Fuel injector cleaner

I heard from an ASE master mechanic that you should run fuel injector cleaner through your car once a year to keep it clean is this true and what should I use I always liked seafoam but I was woundering what you guys think

Once a year shouldn’t hurt anything. I am a fan of seafoam myself and it does do a good job. One mistake a lot of people make is to overuse additives. If one bottle is good more must be twice as good, right? But one can on a full tank annually wouldn’t hurt. Years ago we didn’t have as stringent a standard for the fuel we allowed to be sold in the US, and getting gas that would gum everything up was a regular problem. But things have changed both in government regulations and the industry itself regarding detergent additive levels. As long as you are using fresh gas from a good supply you shouldn’t have any issues related to fuel quality.

At the shop I work at we use bg44k along with the fuel induction cleaner you hook into the throttle body while the vehicle runs. Ive had a few customers come back and say they now get less gas mileage. :sick:
