I keep seeing articles about fuel additives saying it’s a good idea to use some type of fuel additive to counter the effects of ethanol in gasoline.

I’ve used products such as Sta-bil, Marvel’s Mystery Oil, Seafoam and transmission fluid and I’m not sure if it’s helping or not.

Is it really worth to use these products? It seems like transmission fluid is the least expensive of the additives for ethanol treatments.

As long as you are using your vehicle regularly and refilling the tank you do not need any additives.

You need to use a water remover if you are going to be running ethanol, but I really suggest that you just do not buy gasoline with ethanol in it. the price difference will be made up by better mileage and more power.

I have use the sta-bil additive. I’m not sure if it did anything to help but it can’t hurt. I trust their products. I would be careful how many products you put in as it might damage your catalytic convertor.

most gas stations sell premium with no ethanol and for me this ends up being 5.00 more per tank but I get better mileage and power The mileage alone pays the difference.

i use techron chevron and i got 3 more miles to the gallon but you got to keep using it every 1500-2000 miles. The bottle say 3000 but i do mostly city driving so i use it more frequently.I is more expensive but will eliminate knocking engine, more power and steady idle when used regularly.
Also stp but i like techron better
