I have a 2012 Chevy Malibu that is doing the usual shaking on applying brakes. i have generally had them turned first then replaced. Any thoughts or opinions? Take an hours roughly either way

For me replace only with a premium rotor/ black electro coating for corrosion.

After cutting rotors and depending on how much material was removed usually will cause the rotors to warp again due to the reduction in material.
IMHO, your most likely better off replacing them.

+1 on that! I’ve pretty much given up on turning rotors. New ones aren’t that expensive and have had NO PROBLEMS with warping.

If you’re hard on brakes, replacing them would be best. If you aren’t an aggressive driver, turning them should be alright.

As others have said, getting them turned might just take too much off, and you’ll end up warping them again.

Just replace them with rotors that aren’t dirt cheap.

Unless you have access to use a brake lathe for free, the cost isn’t worth it once there’s an issue with the rotors in my opinion.

I would say replace them is the best option, but you can turn them if they have enough material left in them
