      Hi all,

I changed my wheels recently (same size) and realized that the front L wheel is about 1cm more protruding than R. The car is aligned but the L wheel has about 1 degree more negative camber than R.

What can be the possible reasons? Can this be due to frame damage? I have my mechanic jacked up the car before for inspection and there are no visible damage/repairs under the car, I also took the side fenders and front bumper off myself before and there are no damage and repairs either. The car fenders are aligned properly as far as I can tell visually.

My car is a jdm DC5R and has a subframe and I am guessing the subframe might not be seated properly?

If the alignment numbers are within spec then you should not get tire wear.
Don’t forget there is a range of spec. The tech may not have seen a problem
if it was within the spec range and made no adjustment or made an adjustment.

To add to what College man stated if the alignment numbers are within spec that is what is most important, with that being said check your alignment and if everything is within spec then everything should be fine…

bad aligment is typically caused by bent or warn suspension components such as ball joints, bushings, ect… or bent subframe or frame… but i would have the actual aligment of the car checked and if that is within spec as College man stated, this should not effect your vehicle.

Are there any modifications to the car; has the car ever been in an accident; are you seeing this on level ground with the suspension fully settled; Is there an uneven weight load in the car; how’s the ride height from one side to another; if it has aftermarket wheels, are they a matched pair with different offsets that aren’t properly installed; has anything been apart recently?

              Hi all,

The car was aligned about 1 year ago, according to the mechanic it was in spec.
I have been driving the car for the past year and there has been no abnormal tire wear.
However, what worries me is that the front L camber is about 1 degree more negative than the R, the car is on stock suspension and the cambers can’t be adjusted. Car is pulling slightly to the right and I am guessing this camber difference is the cause.

I have personally taken out the front and rear bumpers, front side fenders. This car has no prior damage to these areas.
However, the L door and L rear quarterpanel was repainted before so I am guessing that area was damaged before there but I suspect nothing serious.

I changed my wheels (matched wheels enkei rpf1 ET35 17×8) recently and this made it more obvious visually. There is no uneven weight load, the car is on stock suspension and the right height is the same.

I am suspecting my subframe is bent or shifting around as the car makes a clunk sound on start/stop traffic and slow left/right turns. After doing some research it is quite common for this model for the subframe to clunk if not installed properly.
