      no sealant should be necessary.

            The machine shop gave me the block and said I would need to install the freeze plugs myself. And they told me to use sealant. I thought I would ask for more advice.

              I would think the machine shop would know what they’re talking about but personally I’ve always had the machine shop install the freeze plugs and never had to worry about it.
