Hey guys, Have been having issues with my 07 ford focus SE 2.0. The vent control cable broke so I replaced it. However, I noticed that when I go to switch vent direction, the switch still turns very hard. I checked the gear box that the switch connects to, they are fine. Also have removed my blower motor and tried to blow out my vents with air, Never found any debris. I believe there to be a stuck door going into my heater core box. I am going to remove my dash next to try and gain access to all the vents. Any tips or pictures for the dash removal? Also has anyone else ever run into this problem?

disconnect where the cable connects and see if the device
is hard to move by hand. This will tell you whats stuck.

Yeah I did that, even went as far as taking that assembly off. It is the bottom arm of that system that is attached to the heater core box itself that is sticking. So do I replace just that arm or take my entire dash off?

I have a feeling your door is broken and that is why it is so hard to move it.

You are likely going to have to remove the dash and open the HVAC box up.

FOCUS UPDATE! Well that small problem is now on hold for a while. I had the center console taken out and some of the air vents, did it in my spare time. While on the way to work this morning, a deer ran out in front of me now my car is at the body shop! You never know whats gonna happen until it happens sometimes.

                Sorry to hear that.

Smack a couple deer in my life with vehicles also. Living in TN you kinda learn to dodge ’em.
