      Hey guys,

      I have got a 1997 Ford Courier 2.6lt 2wd 5sp manual.
When it is cold I need to spray some starter fluid down the throttle body for it to start but once it does it is fine until the next morning or if I haven’t used it for awhile.
Just wanting to get some ideas on where to look…
I was thinking maybe fuel pressure but any other ideas would be much appreciated.
      Thank you

does your vehicle have a engine light when running? if so its a good idea to get some codes and see if we can narrow down our issue! and does your temperature gauge work fine?

my guess as it seems to be temperature related as it runs fine when warmed up, it might be something to do with a sensor that measures temperature, such as a coolant temp sensor or a air intake temp sensor… these sensors have the responsibility of telling the PCM if your engine is cold, this way the PCM can adjust the air fuel mixture rich for cold starting… However i will not make assumptions, lets see what codes you have first.

There are no lights that come on the dash but I will check out the coolant temp sensor..
I dont have a code reader but I will try and see if someone I know has one.
Thank you 13aceofspades13 for the suggestion.

          Edit: update,
You might be right about coolant temp sensors as when I checked it, the sensor plug was broken off the top.
So I have put a order in for a new one.
Cross fingers that is all it was 🙂
Funny thing is that I had noticed the loose plug wire and didnt really track it down to where it goes.

+1 on the temp sensor. Especially with your update about the broken connector. Keep us posted on how things go after you replace it.

Finally got the temp sensor and did a engine flush (remove all old coolant) and replaced coolant and put the temp sensor in.
Jumped into the car (prayed to the motor gods) , turn the key and yeeha it started first pop.
So thank you to 13aceofspades13 for your suggestion.. Your a legend 🙂
