Ford Contour V6 Stripped Oil Pan Drain Bolt

Hey all,

title kinda explains my issue. I watched Erics video and am going to attempt to try it out to save me.

Question is, what kind of bolt do I need? The bolt a 15mm with a M12x1.75 so I’m not sure what to look for when i get to the hardware store.

Very simple here is what you do
the next size up is the M15 thread
and now you ask what is the pitch and the answer is this
if you buy a M15x1 bolt than you drill a 14mm hole =0.551 drill
if you buy a M15x1.5 bolt than you drill a 13.5mm hole = 0.531 drill
if you buy a M 15x whatever than you drill a 15 minus the whatever hole, and tap it!!!!!!!

Thanks for the help guys, I ended up just replacing the whole oil pan, I didnt find it that difficult and i found a used one cheap off a Ford Escape. It’s as dry as a bone down there now 🙂
