Floor Jack issue: Handle keeps spinning, won’t lock

Hello,

I’ve done a lot of searching via the interwebs but I couldn’t find a fix for this issue. If you know the fix or where I can find it, please let me know.

I have a 2 ton, quick-up Craftsman floor jack. A while back it broke. The handle keeps spinning and will not close/lock. Therefore I cannot raise the jack because it will not lock and build hydraulic pressure to lift anything. If I pump it quickly, the jack will raise a bit… but it drops quickly.

I did inspect for leak but none were found. I changed out the hydraulic fluid as well. I didn’t think those solutions would fix the handle issue but worth a shot.
