1999 Chev Express 2500 4.3l vortec frequently runs rough intermittently and even stalled a couple of times. Wouldn’t start again for 15 minutes. Almost like engine was flooded. Didn’t notice gas smell. KOEO fuel pressure primes @ 60 psi and drops to 55 psi. Bleeds down at around 1/2 to 1 psi per 60 seconds. Engine running pressure can drop as low as 49 psi. I know these spider poppet nozzles need minimum 50 psi to open, and typically run at least 55 psi. So, that would seem to explain the conditions by intermittent lack of fuel. But where does the fuel pressure go? Anyone seen this before? Can’t think how else to test or how to prove the spider is bad/leaking.

Simple solution. Upgrade to the MFI with real injectors. Those spider poppet valves have been my enemy a few times. They do all sorts of weird crap.

Kewl, thanx. I don’t even know what ima find in there. Vans @ 350k. Bought it last year. Was told the motor was rebuilt @ 270k (seemed believable… ran well and smooth). But, I don’t even know what ‘rebuilt’ means LOL
