      Hiya,

After reading faq, it seems that I am having engine or transmission mounts failure.
Switching to drive or from drive to reverse makes a little shudder and squeak. Other than that it works great.
If it’s the case, do I replace all of them or just the problem one?
I will try record it tomorrow.

Replace broken one and inspect others very good.

Just to be clear. How serious this is?

In general its not good for your engine or transmission to
jump around or vibrate. Any other mounts that are good will
            be stressed and break also.

Good advice from College man. Once one of the mounts fail and the problem is not addressed soon another mount will probably fail. What is the make and model car ?

See this link, sounds like broken mounts are common for that generation of truck.

With mounts I normally just replace the broken ones however if the others look worn, I’ll replace those as well. A good inspection is a great place to start. Sometimes you can take a pry bar and move the engine to observe the behavior of the mounts.

                      Keep us posted.

So, they looked, looked and didn’t quite know what I was talking about. After some explaining they came up with this(37110 SHAFT ASSY, PROPELLER): http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_2007_TOYOTA_FJ+CRUISER_GSJ10L-GKASKA_3701.html

I am going to check this theory in other shop.

Not surprising… a bad prop shaft can cause vibrations when driving… may be bent or damaged in some way..

Yep, but the problem is not when driving but switching gears while not moving.

I cover driveline issues in the ‘Vibrations’ article.

Thing is it’s almost impossible to tell for sure without replacing it. Keep us posted.
