Hi,
I am performing a rotor and stud replacement on my 1996 Honda Accord since a few weeks back, I actually broke two of the studs trying to take the front right wheel off. I had am following the procedures outlined in Eric’s video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xIUAMl-oRQ, How to Replace Captive Rotors. I took the knuckle off and ran M10x1.25x75mm bolts down into hub/bearing assembly. I used an impact hammer on the bolts, but somehow it seems that the air hammer stripped all the threads in the wheel bearing. Does this seem to make sense? Eric didn’t seem to have any trouble with this in the video. Any other ideas on how to get the wheel bearing out of the knuckle. I took the four bolts out but since the threads are stripped they won’t go back in. Can I smack on the rotor with a hammer? I am trying to avoid damaging the hub as that is much more expensive than just replacing the bearing. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.
Steve
