Hello everybody
Here is another oil related question.Is it necessary to change engine oil at the first 1000 km for a brand new car.Almost all dealers in my region recommend that some with both labour and parts are free and some with only the labour is free.
In my case the dealer recommend the change but nothing is mention about that in maintenance schedule

My suggestion would be to change it at 1000 miles or roughly 1500 Km.
No matter how clean the engine is when assembled there will be some debris along with break-in debris. The oil filter will catch the larger particles but any filter will not catch everything. This means smaller particles will continue to circulate in the lubrication system.
The engine is broken in by the time it has 5 miles on it so anything after that is not an issue.
I don’t think it’s necessary. This was the case in older vehicles, but most new vehicles are already broken in and have had an oil change. Older vehicles recommended the first oil change at about 500 miles because they had “break in oil” (essentially mineral oil) in the engine.
That being said; you can’t change your oil too often. If it’s free, then go for it.+1 on BLUES comment.
800 – 1000 kms is a good time to do it. In my view the sooner you get out any material left from the manufacturing process the better.
I reckon at 800 -1000 km the engine has had enough operating hours to renew the lubricant.I generally do the oil change my new cars at around 500 miles / 800 kms but some like to leave it longer.
Change the oil filter as well so you start off with both fresh oil and filter. It is cheap maintenance on a new engine.
