At first ignition, it was sort of cranking but didn’t quite “get there”, so I pulled out the key and tried again and it worked. What could this be telling me? Just for precaution. Not sure if the weather getting warmer had something to do with it, but I don’t think it’s a battery problem since it’s only been 2 years since I last bought a new one.

        Possibly the ignition switch…

Does it look like this and where would this be installed, where I put the key in?

Rock Auto sells this. They called it: Starter Switch

Is this what I may need?

Yes, that is an ignition switch. Can’t say if that is your problem though, It is located behind your ignition lock. Don’t see these go bad very often on Toyotas of your year. Usually starting issues are the battery, starter or the battery wiring…

So far the car ignites fine, must have been a 1 time glitch? But what usually happens when the starter switch is really done? Will the car not start anymore?

If the switch realy is broken, then it wont work it all. How ever there a few tricks to get them up and running again, to get you to the dealer ship. When it happens, try to lift the key, under a light angle (dont force any thing), and then start again. 9 out of 10 times it wil pick it up 😉
