Everyone that I have spoken with who own one of these cars had had issues with pre-mature rear brake wear. My ’07 Milan has about 80k miles on it and I am now on my fourth set of rear brakes, but I have only changed the fronts once ! I am using “quality” pads (Raybestps Advanced Technology Ceramic) and installed new rotors last time (Raybestos Advanced Technology). The glide/slide pins moved freely and were well lubed.
Well, after less than a year, I heard the dreaded metal on metal grinding coming from the RR (RR always seem to go before LR) I decided to do something different ! This time I purchased a reman caliper AND bracket. Of course this cam pre-assembled with new slide pins and boots. Because I am basically a cheap SOB, I had kept the set of pads I took off earlier in the year so I installed the best two out of that set.
I guess I can NOT guarantee that this is a “sure cure”, I did not inspect the LR, but I’m guessing I will have to do that side in the spring and I will put new pads on both sides. I will update as time goes by.
