I have an exhaust leak. I was going to use the off the shelf muffler weld or metal repair by versa chem. I do not have the budget for a welder or replacement. Is anyone have the experience using stuff like this. I have paid for no car payments situation which i love.

Considered JB weld for those holes or cracks.

      What does Eric think?

Forget the JB Weld. If the muffler is leaking you can usually find a cheap one. If it is a pipe, that section can be cut out and replaced. If you have a few tools you can just buy the preformed parts online and install them “bolt them on” yourself. There are plenty of videos online that show the process. Most part stores are helpful.

Just a little primer: The pipe connected to the engine is an exhaust pipe. The catalytic converter follows. Then comes the intermediate pipe, muffler and lastly the tail pipe. If you determine which part is leaking you can search online for the correct part , price and install instructions.
