Whats your favourite tool or socket size to work with? I felt like this didn’t quite fit in with the tool talk page, more of a general discussion thing. My favourite tools to work with are 1/4″ sockets and my dremel. How about you guys?

My favourite socket size is 10mm, my favourite tool at this moment is my old school ratcheting hand drill. I dont use it much on the car, but you didnt say “car tools”.

My signature shows my favorite tool…. The Snap on cordless impact in the center of the toolcart…

I have used the heck out of this and it keeps coming back for more… was a bit pricey, but worth every penny… Have dropped it, covered it in grease, parts cleaner, rust, dust, crust and you name it… Good power in a small size…

Hooked up with a 3 inch extension and rusty and corroded 10’s, 12’s and 13’s easily come off…Quickly torques down bolts of all sizes… Light, powerful and it speeds you up so much with no hose behind it…. Its an Awesome tool and I highly recommend it…

Seems simple but it never fails that I reach into the tool box for my Jet Tools long handle flex head 3/8 ratchet. Its defiantly not the greatest thing, in fact I’ve returned 2 now for wearing out the pivot but lifetime warranty is cheaper than a new Snap On one 🙂

Other than that I always seem to have a 13 and 15mm ratchet wrench / gear wrench in my back pocket. So much easier when the crucial fastener I’m trying to get at is in the worst spot of all time, every time.

My favourite tool is my 18v Dewalt quarter drive impact driver and a 10mm socket. Works great for removing the plastic Butt cover bolts underneath the front of some cars these days.

It’s the same or similar to the one that Eric demonstrated not long ago.

Although everybody likes a big #$*%ing hammer and 36″ prybar. I seem to always have my flex head Snap-on 3/8 ratchet in my hand with 10-14mm sockets. I’ve found a great deal of bolts on my 3 Fords take these sizes and can’t seem to do any repair or maintenance without reaching for it.

My favorite tool is an old green handled Snap On ratcheting 1/4 inch magnetic tip screwdriver combined with a red box of assorted bits I got from Sears. I was just out taking down and putting up a downspout on the house that was plugged and since that pipe has been taken down a thousand times before for the same reason no two fasteners were the same. Not a problem. I’m also set for all those new internal drive screws that are appearing on everything.
