Some tools just work. They save you time and make you money. What tool or tools do you have that fit this description?

Every time I raise the hood on a customers car, I find I pull my flashlight and start looking at areas typically find trouble.
My flashlight is my favorite tool, the one I have is about 1 inch in diameter and 7 inches long, I keep it in a holster on my belt, it’s LED type and extremely bright, I love it.

Great call on the flashlight. I’ve been doing a lot of suspension work recently and I have to say that my 231C Ingersoll Rand is definitely my favorite tool at the moment. Makes it so much easier and quicker.

I cannot believe my favorite tool has not been mentioned yet. The big f***ing hammer, sometimes you just need to beat on things until they do what you want.

Another tool I use (I keep it in my shirt pocket) is a tire tread depth gauge.
Customers often ask if they need tires, with the depth gauge I can give them a number of
how many miles they can go until tire replacement is recommended. (typical normal city driving)

Well, this may not even be a tool but my can(s) of PB Blaster are life saving.

I have heard that a 10:1 mix of acetone/ATF is the best penetrating oil.

I would have to say that my favorite tool would be the Snap-On Hi-performance zero degree off set double box end wrench that’s a 16-18mm. I love it because 16mm and 18mm are the most common fastener size on Caterpillar equipment, especially for hydraulic hoses (flange style). The part number is XDHFM1618. I think I’ve used every day since I discovered it over a year ago.
