Some tools just work. They save you time and make you money. What tool or tools do you have that fit this description?

Simple one but true – my pocket flat head, I use it for everything except maybe undoing screws. I don’t think I could function without my 11th finger!

well I would have to say whats between my ears. Without it I would be…well a vegetable!

No seriously, if it wasn’t for my brain I would be just a parts changer shot gunning parts till something stuck. Don’t make for much of a technician without it!

I’d say my 3/4” impact, gets most of the real big stubborn bolts and nuts off 😆 And if that doesn’t do it, the 1” at the shop will :silly:

My pocket screwdriver and flashlight are a close 2nd and 3rd though!

Pocket screwdriver, Matco magnetic grabber (love that thing) . Finally swivel sockets and a good screw gun.

3/8 drive Matco locking flexhead ratchet (it’s broke a few times, but it’s my workhorse)
Various picks for every reason you can think of.
My knipex needle nose’ – best pliers I own or will ever likely own period.

I have a craftsman one but they work awesome. I dont remember what vehicle. But, I dropped a brake fluid cap and it fell onto the exhaust. I tried to grab it but I kept on pushing it farther and farther away. It went below a heat sheild and I had to grab a coworker to help me retreive it. Well if I had that tool I would of saved 25 min on an oil change. It would of taken me 20min but ended up an hour.

I have ever found a pair of hose pliers I liked, until this morning the new gear-wrench plier (they have small teeth in the curved jaws). Now I know Mac has a new gripper plier on the market with teeth. Do you own the ones with or without teeth ? P.S. they sell them on Amazon for $58.66 for a 3 piece set “GearWrench 82107”. I am not sure about the teeth, good idea or bad ?

I have a few that I absolutely love.
my SO SHCP1 hose clamp pliers are awesome for hose clamps that are impossible to get to with regular pliers or you have to fight with the channel locks because you have to open the jaws up so much to go over the clamp tabs that you can’t close it enough to get it on the pipe. Love these things.
another favorite tool is my Crescent Double X pliers for getting into tight spots that otherwise would take a lot more time to get to.

36″ Snap-On prybar with striking end, pocket screwdriver, pick with 90 degree on one end and straight on the other for o-rings, seals and stuff, big 18″ crescent wrench or my big channel locks

Geez, hard to pick just one!

                                  1/4″ Matco battery impact

                                  1/4″ Matco battery “air” ratchet

3/8″ and 1/2″ Snap-On Tech Angle torque wrenches

                                  Tech 2

                                  Fluke 87V

Could go on and on, but those are the first ones I can think of!

Pocket screw driver is by far the cheapest (Free off the trucks) and most handy lil guy I’ve ever used!!

Other than that, I’d have to say….my 1/4″ drive air ratchet. With extensions and universal sockets, and with it’s small size, you can fit in just about any space!
