I have 2001 Honda Civic EX 1.7 VTEC. When I am at a stop light and my fan comes on it comes close to killing the engine.I can watch the RPM’s drop from 600 to 100 and then come back up to 600 and idle fine. Why is the fan putting such a load on the engine? Is it the EGR valve going bad? Without the fan putting a load on the engine it idles fine right a 600 rpm steady.
