the old one is a square and wider, the new one about half as thick. im going to ziptie it tomorow, but the good news is that i hooked up the hoses to it and theres no more leaks
I don’t really see a problem with the zipties.
It’s hard to really say without seeing it in person though.
I guess you could make some kind of a bracket out of aluminum and use self taping screws to screw it onto the car..
I’m not sure how much help you will find here about fabrication to be honest. If it were my vehicle, I would work something out, but I can’t specifically tell you how to fab a mount without being there. You may want to hop on a more specific forum, or post this in the high performance section of this one.
how do the directions say to mount the new cooler? By looking at the picture that cooler should be mounted
flush to either the radiator,ac condenser or what ever in the front of the car. the blocks with the zip ties will be used.C8-)
That style cooler mounts to the radiator in the same fashion as a performance trans cooler. you push the long plastic ties through the fins of the cooler and radiator and then slip the locking discs on and cut off the excess.
You CAN use zip ties however be aware that vibrations over time can cause the zip ties to actually cut through the metal and cause a leak, I would look for a more permanent solution however without looking at it for myself it’s hard to offer an exact opinion on how that would work. Just be sure if you do use zip ties to try and keep them away from something that could leak or rub through.
