Hi I have a 98 Camry V6. I heard a exahust leak on the Cylinder near the Fire wall. I think it is Cylinder 1, 3, 5. Is it necessary to repair it? My friend listen for me and told me it is exhaust leak. It is like a air noise. How do I find out or pinpoint the exact place where it is leaking?

      Thanks

Start the car with the engine cold and then plug the tailpipe. This will make any exhaust leaks more noticible. In your case, pay extra close attention to the exhaust manifold gasket and exhaust manifold for warpage. Also look for rust or cracks in the manifold or a bad downpipe gasket. Fix the leak regardless because you can burn out a valve or force a rich condition.

+1 and yes it would be a good idea to fix it, if not it could cause a CEL to come on and cause a decrease in fuel economy.
