Is a catalytic converter that’s advertised as “High Flow” going to actually flow any better than a standard (cheaper) catalytic converter?

Most for the ricers will just use a test pipe. You can find this on ebay. I have even seen people “gut” the cat. I don’t recommend any of this. If you do this will cause a check engine light, and from experience the car run like crap. To answer you question about a “High Flow” cat vs the standard you would have to dyno the car to get your answer I assume.

It will yes, but remember if it’s not a mustang, challenger or any other car that’s tuned to make power, then you’re going to have to get yourself a tune, as most cars that are not intended for performance have lighter and less aggressive tunes off the factory floor, so messing with it will only turn you check engine light on… Also it is best to make sure you’re getting an onroad CAT and not an offroad CAT… as an offroad CAT will not pass emissions…

Also gutting the cat sounds bad, you need to use a long tube header with a proper ORP (off road pipe) it sounds alot better,but still really loud, and it won’t pass emissions… but hey… because racecar banana:

I really hope you are in a non emissions state. Because then you can chuck the cat all together. I hate them. Hate hate hate hate hate hate them. But unless you got a V8 feeding through a single cat, I wouldn’t worry about it. They flow alright, I would recommend though on a V8 to just go ahead and go a true dual all the way back. Also, just clean out the cat, you can see many videos online about this.

If its thicker i should, but check all the other- cheaper brands and you can usually find one that’s cheaper that does the same thing.
