1st Car was a 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX with the E16i engine/5 speed manual. Wish it was the CA18DE. In that year it may have been the CA16DE for DOHC but either way. Did a lot of work on it to fix it up. It had a new alternator, battery, plugs and wires, all

September 24, 2012 at 12:44 am #465088The first car I remember was our family’s 1986 Ford Escort, which we rolled the odometer in several times. Traded it for a 1996 pontiac LeMans, Gigantic P.O.S. all over the place. Gave it back to the dealership, and that’s when we had our first 1998 Honda Civic LX 108k, I convinced my mother to buy it because I saw how amazing the 1996 Civic EX was (See below). She now drives an 04 Honda Civic LX 60k traded her old one with 180k in and got it for $7500 at the dealership (Who were asking $14,995).
The first car I ever owned was a 1996 dodge neon $1250, wrecked it in 3 months, I was 13.
The next car was a 1996 Honda Civic EX 150k $900. Drove it for several years though my ex kept it because it was registered in her name, I was still too young to register ownership.
I missed that car so much I stole my mothers 1998 Honda Civic LX which was reported stolen less than 5 minutes after I left in it, and put over 5k on it before I came home. Yes the car was reported stolen, Yes I should have been caught the way I was driving; No, I was not caught, never even pulled over.
After that was a 1994 Chevy Lumina, eventually we blew up the motor and put a 20V Big block in it and a 3 gear manual drag tranny. Blew it up. left it at a shop with the title for repairs, never picked it up.
Then I had a 1986 Pulsar NX with T-tops, bought it for $0.11. drove it until the tranny dropped out, left it on the road with no plates.
After that was a 2003 Chrysler Sebring LXi, managed to get 50 mpg all the way until it was totaled when I was rear ended at a red light, I got the ticket. Stopping on a traveled portion of the roadway $342.
After the insurance payout due to lack of GAP I could only afford a 92 ford Tempo, great runner, until I hit a deer at 90MPH cruise in chi-town. Dropped the tranny right off the motor, a rig behind me hit it and went into the ditch. Waited 4 hours in hellish cold for a ride to a truck stop, after 3 days hitched a ride home, 2004 Honda civic; great ride, very attractive owner westbound I80 to Des Moines.
Then it was a 1986 Buick Century Limited, drove it well after 420k with no major maintenance until the tranny dropped out in KCK on Xmas, traded it to my cousin for a
94 Chevy Beretta, swapped the fuel pump in the street with my uncle over Xmas. Drove it home and many miles more, until the timing belt went out, sold it for $100,
then purchased a 1991 Subaru Loyale AWD at the auction for $300, drove it home with the parking brake on. And many miles more until the Dizzy exploded.
About then I should mention I was working at a dealership and had the opportunity to put 148mi on a 2005 Ford GT, <20 on a 40th anniversary Corvette, 86 Jaguar XJS/XKR?, 88 Diablo, 06 350Z, and many more. I really wanted that 92 Geo Metro they owned for $1 on trade.
After that I bought a 95 Honda Civic LX, wrecked it, drove it home with a concussion, alot of stories in a short time, DON'T Trust ANY garage in Missouri... The old lady I sold it to for $300 still drives it today, with only 2nd and 5th gear. Only in a Honda.
Then it was a 94 Honda Civic EX (Sunroof!), great car, my friend went 3rd to 1st at 90MPH and spun the crank. He stole the car and cut it up.
Then I was driving a 98 Ford Explorer, went many years without oil change, still runs today.
After that was an 06 Dodge Grand Caravan SE for my DD.
In the last year I have acquired a 1998 Honda Civic EX Project, and more recently a 1999 Honda Civic EX. Thanks to EricTheCarGuy I was able to fix my idle issue like a pro when none of the shops in my area could fix it, but they didn't mind charging me $70/hr to tell me it couldn't be fixed! And I didn't have to hire an electrician to rewire my car because of parasitic drain. Once I figure out why it dies when the clutch is disengaged, I can finally put more than 138 miles on its new motor, and justify a project expense.
My next cars will be an EM1 Honda Civic, and a 99-01 BMW M3
This is strictly a list of cars I have directly owned or family had growing up. I have had the chance to drive many more cars, and many of them made an impact. They will surely appear on the Favorite cars list.September 26, 2012 at 11:46 pm #4654251985 Ford Escort

1995 Chevy Cavalier
1986 Chevy Cargo Van

September 30, 2012 at 9:33 pm #465793My first car was a 1996 Ford Explorer V6. Good truck until the city picked it up for unpaid parking tickets that my dad owed. I couldn’t afford to get it out so I let the city take it. My next car was a 1994 Mitsubishi Expo. It was an automatic 4cyl 2.0L. That was a great minivan. It had a third row, was good on gas, had good pick up, and was very reliable until I ran the transmission into the ground. I then donated it to kars 4 kids and bought a 2001 VW Passat V6 2.8L 4Motion. That was the best car I have ever driven. Fast, reliable, and for a V6 it was amazing on gas mileage. I got rid of it because I wanted to upgrade to a 2005 VW Touareg V8 4.2L. It is my current vehicle and I love it. However, I hate the amount of money I have to spend in gas all the time. I often think that I never should have gotten rid of the Passat. Oh well. Once in a blue moon I think about my Mitsubishi Expo and the good times I had with it.
October 7, 2012 at 7:08 am #46717997 Geo Prizm (well, parents owned, but I took it after HS) — totaled 2003
2001 Nissan Xterra
2003 Mitsubishi LancerOnly 32 and I’ve owned the X for 9 years and the Lancer for 7.
I didn’t own these, but I learned to drive in my parents 93 Olds Cutlass, and my wife brought a 2000 Saturn S to the marriage (offloaded in 2005 after a blown engine).

1999 Honda Civic LX(Bought another one)I currently own the 2005 Toyota Sienna and 1999 Honda Civic LX. I bought the 1999 Civic LX in 2002 and owned it for 10 years. I sold it to a friend and bought the 2001 Chevy s-10 from another friend of mine. Then I sold it and bought another 1999 Civic LX from someone on craigslist. I thought I wanted a truck, but it kept breaking down and the fuel economy wasn’t what I was used to. I saw the opportunity to buy another civic and took advantage of it.

November 3, 2012 at 3:26 pm #4738901989 Vauxhall Nova 3 door. Spent huge amounts on this car and ended up being quite a potent little machine with big carburettors, lumpy can etc etc. good fun! Sadly nothing like a Chevy Nova 🙁
1995 Peugeot 106 1527cc diesel. I’ve done just over 100,000 miles in this car, taking its total mileage to 183,000 or nearly 300,000 Kms. Totally reliable motor, great transmission and cheap to work on if it needs it. Will post pictures after.
