      Greetings repair techs, I have a question on european dtc’s. Are the codes standard as like the domestic cars dtc’s.I am work on a 1998 Audi4 no start condition,the engine battery is new,I have a Matco trouble code reader that I am going to try to extract any dtc’s the car might have.Are the codes the same,thanks.

        Most should be common but you could have specific codes from Audi

          OBD2 codes are all the same across all manufacturers in the US. However each brand does have specific DTC’s or manufacturer specific DTC’s that they use. On euro cars it can be difficult to get good information on some manufacturer specific DTC’s. You said you were working on a no start. is it a crank no start or a no crank condition?

            Just as a FYI European OBD2 Codes are (almost all the times) the same as American ones
