ETCG1 Suggestion

A few days ago the shop down the street from me had a break in. They were decimated. 2 toolboxes and some equipment, and a large compressor along with almost all of their air tools. It made me think to suggest this as an ETCG1 video. Having a security system in your shop or garage is a very important thing. Tools are a significant investment and just having someone invade your space like that is a very unnerving thing. I would argue that in today’s sad world that a security system is the single most important tool you can have. I’d love to hear Eric’s thoughts on this as well as see the discussion. Not to mention hear stories and find out what others have to maybe get an idea of upgrading mine as well.

That’s a sad story indeed. Hope they had insurance. I’ve lived in some pretty questionable neighborhoods in the past and I can say from personal experience, security system or not, if someone wants your stuff, they’ll have it. In fact, I had my entire shop stolen from me at one point.

How right you are Eric. If someone truly wants your stuff, well…I suppose that in the case of that it would pretty much only be for peace of mind. However it would be a good deterrent. I remember you talking about your shop being taken away and I can say you’re a cooler head than I. I would have cracked his skull open. Especially after taking some of my tools.

Believe me, I felt that way. But I was in a pretty bad way at the time and only wanted the tools back so that I could make a living. Nothing more.
