I know it’s not quite the end of the year yet, but I’m actually working on the last few videos of 2014 now. In this video I look back at the past year and forward to the next. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this years videos and what you’d like to see in the coming year.

Thank you for what you do. You are good at it. I particularly appreciate your integrity in not editing out the rough spots… stuff breaks, something doesn’t work, diagnostic process, all that. One of the problems my wife and I have had: “Why did it take you three weeks to build the back deck when it only took one show for the couple on TV to do it?” Well stuff like – Older kid falls off dirt bike, breaks wrist, rest of day in E.R. Younger kid decides to “Help Daddy” by cutting open all the concrete bags stacked in the driveway and hitting the concrete mix with the garden hose… all that.

Can you give us an idea of how many premium members/subscribers you have, or is that privileged information?

If you’re going to cut off the intro music, you might as well cut it out altogether. Honestly I know just to skip 30-45 sec in after all the intro dialog anyways.

But I liked this video. You’re really too hard on yourself; the more popular you become just means the more people you’ll have complaining about what you do. I trust that you know what direction to go with ETCG. I have no problem with promotional videos, anyone who does must not watch TV or browse the internet ever where you are constantly bombarded with relentless advertising for crap you don’t even need.

I often tell people that my life is an exorcize in Murphy’s Law for similar reasons to what you’ve described. In short, I feel your pain that’s why I keep that stuff in the videos. I too never liked how things were put together for those programs on TV, but as I mentioned, I don’t have the same constraints that they do.

As for Premium Members, the number fluctuates around 500 members at this time. The majority of those are monthly subscribers.

It’s funny how many people saw this video as me looking for suggestions on what to do in 2015. The truth is I’ve already got it planned out. If things go as planned things will be very different in 2015. In summary I plan on getting back to my roots with better production, lighting, and sound is pretty much the gist of it. As for promotional stuff, it will look very different in the future. Lesson learned on that one.

I’ve actually been thinking of cutting the intro music for some time. Thing is I’ve already shot and edited the next 5 ETCG1 videos which still contain the old intro. I needed to get ahead so that I could get through my 2 weeks of travel coming up. That said, I’ll probably cut it in future videos. There weren’t too many people that complained that it got cut short. If things work out I’ll use the music for the podcast.

                Thanks for your input.
