This is the second show I did from the shop. I really like doing these shows in the shop.
What are your thoughts?

For bleeding brakes, why are you still using a bottle? Hand pump, or pneumatic bleeders are easily accessible for most people, even if it’s a Harbor Freight tool. I bought a hand pump bleeder, and I’m so happy with it because sometimes I just have to do things by myself. With a shop full of tools that much is outside me reach, and yet one tool that is so easy is missing. If it’s just to mess with Brian, I get it.

RE: The brake bleeding bottle
I made my own following your example using an OLD gatorade bottle, some clear plastic tubing from my local Advance AutoParts, and a piece of FUEL HOSE (not vacuum hose). The tubing is available at most auto parts stores, home improvement/supply type stores (Lowes, Ace, Home Depot, etc) and mine is 7/32″ diameter. How do I know the size? Well I grabbed the tubing and slid it through my 1/4″, 7/32″, and 3/16″ sockets-the first one it fit through is the size I mentioned. Tubing sized 1/4″-3/16″ should work just fine-for those of you using metric system I suggest 4, 5, or 6mm tubing with standard diameter rubber fuel hose on the end.

I don’t like the hand pumps and when something works, it works. Tools don’t have to be expensive or store bought to work.

Cool, thanks for listing the sizes.

For what I did pay for it, it paid for itself by not having to find someone to help me, and not using gas from running the engine. May even be better on the master cylinder by not having to pump it so much when doing a full flush. Which I did both trucks the same day I did the rear brakes on the big truck. The nice part for me, it has the other function of vacuum tester. The pneumatic version is just a few dollars more, but then again, I’m not trying to spend a lot. If I was, I wouldn’t be shopping at Harbor Freight. Yeah I used a coupon.
