I’m going to admit I don’t feel this was one of my best shows. Mainly because I drew a complete blank on the specifics of the parasitic draw test. Also because I started reading what I consider a useless question from one of my critics in the middle of the show. Outside of that, I think I was able to help a few people with their automotive issues.

BTW, thanks Advance Auto for the hour long show!

I’d love to hear what you thought of the show.

        Good show to me…

BTW Not sure what year the RAV4 was, but there was a very unfortunate problem with 2001-2003 RAV4’s where the ECM was actually responsible for the deterioration of the transmission itself. And this was only on the RAV4…

        TSB 0156-10 addresses this…

And here is one of my favorites Hiram Gutierrez discussing the issue as well…

Ya know, that is the challenge of a live show-everything is on the fly. In other words, there is no looking things up during the live show…so what if you forgot the magic number, 50 mA. Even on a rough day, you are still awesome.

As for the critic(s)-They will always be there. Some will just try anything to get a negative response from you…(Yoda LOL) 🙂

I noticed there were a lot of transmission and clutch questions this week. That was super cool.

            Eric,

Great show. Glad I got to tune in for this one. I actually have the resonator issue in my ’07 Camry that you mentioned in response to the second question. I never thought of physically pinching in the sides of the resonator to fix it. But before I go whacking away at my car with a ball pein hammer, isn’t it possible that this method could knock something else loose inside and exacerbate the problem? In my case, the issue only seems to present itself at highway speed between 2000 and 3000 RPMs, but it is nonetheless annoying. Would you recommend the hammer method only as a last resort option for a constant resonator buzz, or would it be worth me giving it a shot?

Keep up the great videos. My cars and I (and my wallet) thank you for them.

I understand your concern, but if it’s already broken loose on the inside, what does it matter if you knock something else loose? I’ve been doing that for years and so far no issues. The only other option would be to replace the pipe.
