Engine wont start when Hot (no spark)

OK here is my problem, I’m getting a no start after the engine has been warmed up I go out and about and say go into the store and after i come out the engine WILL crank but it won’t start and I know the starter and solenoid is not overheating because the engine will crank.

Doesn’t stall or anything either, only after it’s been shut off for a few minutes.

So today I hooked up a spark tester and got no spark, it only does this when the engine has been warmed up. Starts fine when cold.

The car is a 69 el camino 350

How long does it take before it will allow you to start it again? What type of ignition system is used the 69?

It’s kinda intermittent… like 10 minutes sometimes then sometimes 30 minutes… I have an aftermarket distributor and coil (Accel brand)

Would it set you back too much to get another coil and try swapping it? Sometimes they show signs of failing when warmed up.

It does sound like coil. Overheats and acts up. Also, there’s likely to be a small capacitor on dizzy’s case. THAT can do same. Little barrel with wire.

Not to forget. Deep inside dizzy should be ignitor, I believe. It’s also called chocolate due to chocolate brown color. It’s known to go bad from high temperature.
