Greetings Everyone, first post here.
I’m swapping a chevy 4.3L v6 from an 86 el camino. The donor vehicle is a 94 chevy 1500 with a 4.3L v6 vortec. I was wondering if I needed to completely swap the tbi harness and ecu. Or if I can just swap the connector for the throttle position sensor and the EGR solenoid. Everything I’ve read the two systems are nearly identical with maybe a few tweeks to the coding for the 94 but the voltages and sensors should read out the same. I know the throttle position sensor has a different connector but I think it’s more for ease of assembly. The older map sensor and throttle position sensor were using the same connector, slightly confusing. Other then that I noticed the evap can might be different between the two. The 94 doesn’t have a vacuum boost line. But since the lines are all cracked and leaking I don’t think it’ll really notice the difference.
Thank you in advance for any help and advice.
